Your word is your value.Sometimes your image is more potent than your word itself. If you want to be seen as a leader, act like one in all ways. That isn’t limited to what you’ve built. The physical manifestations of success, and material wealth, pale in comparison to the growth in character you experience when you understand what it means to build something of value. If you create something that will impact the lives of others, inevitably, it will impact your life in incredible ways as well. Stay in integrity. Speak with intention. Act with reality.

Come up with a bullet point list of the words that you want to breed in your working environment, but also for doing business in general. Being clear about what motivates you and the kind of energy you want to facilitate within your team is an important way to maintain a supportive company culture. Think of the qualities you want your team members to explore, what’s important to you, and what you’d like your company to represent. Creativity? Innovation? Flexibility? Balance? Consistency? You can invite people to add a word or two of their own, have a dialogue around it, and see if any suggestions come to the fore for how you can lean more in one direction or the other. By doing this everyone is on the same page and walking in congruence towards the goal. This alone motivates everyone to always do the right thing. Sometimes what you believe is right isn’t but when its done with a justifiable and pure intention you can recover.

Chase Excellence and Commit to It

Chase Excellence and Commit to It

Often, I surround myself with people who have achieved massive amounts of success. When I’m around them I sit back and take time to just listen. I get to see the distinct pattern of actions that differentiate them from everyone else.

I don’t say that to insist that one person is greater than the next in any way because we are all created equally. However, what I do refer to is how they think and go about their lives.

Confucius once said, “The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.”

If you sit back and look at the most successful people in every field whether it be athletes, speakers, entrepreneurs, or authors on thing holds true. They made a commitment to excellence and went after it relentlessly. Constantly striving for excellence in every area of your life is ultimately what will determine the quality of your life, no matter what you do for a living.

Staying committed to the core values and excellence is what shaped most of the most successful companies. When an average athlete excels, and becomes great it’s due to his/her commitment to excellence. By simply making a commitment to excellence, and going after it each day with a never give up mindset, and ordinary person becomes a person with extraordinary success. It won’t happen overnight but if you just strive to do better, excellence is the gradual result.

What is SUCCESS?

What is SUCCESS?

There is one and only one person that can answer that question, and that person is you. I believe that one of the most important key steps to achieving success in life is to simply know the meaning of success for your personal life. The true definition of success is much deeper that the surface level meaning that leads to an image, such as having a lot of money, being wealthy, having a lot of tangibles and earned degrees. Not saying that successful people may not have these things, but it’s not the end all be all in terms of success. On the other hand, I believe the core of true success in life cannot be measured with the above-named factors, but instead with the amount of people that can live a better and more advanced life because of what you created. You are put on this earth to change it. You never want to just exist. This is the meaning of success. Instead people get caught up collecting the trophies of life. In today’s day and age, society and the social media influence leads us to often conclude that living a successful life means to be extraordinarily wealthy and have a lot of tangibles. To some sitting down and having a family dinner is a success and that makes them no less successful just because of the absent intangibles. But the meaning of success is waking up happy with the person in the mirror that is actively pursuing your vision and version of success. Determine what your success is and go get that.
